Answer: Doesn’t sound like you have much of a friend. If you have a solid alibi (you can demonstrate where you were at the time of the hit-and-run), you maybe could tough it out and not implicate your runaway “buddy.” But the guy doesn’t sound like he’s worth it, and you’d do yourself a favor by cooperating with the police to point to the real criminal.
